Job Description – HSE Officer (Maritime & Offshore)
Location: Antwerp, Belgium (Hybrid: 4 days office / 1 day home)

Salary: Up to €6,00 gross/month (Dependant on experience)
About the Role
This is a corporate office–based role in Antwerp with regular interaction and feedback loops with clients, vessel teams and project managers. A strong maritime or offshore background is essential for success.
Key Responsibilities
HSE Plan Development & Implementation
* Develop, update and implement project-specific HSE plans for maritime and offshore operations.
* Ensure all HSE documentation complies with industry standards, company procedures and client expectations.
* Support risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSA), and permit-to-work processes.
* Coordinate with the Fleet, Technical and Offshore teams to ensure HSE measures are integrated into operational planning.
Operational HSE Support
* Provide HSE guidance to vessel crews, offshore teams and project stakeholders.
* Monitor compliance with MARPOL, SOLAS, ISM Code, flag-state requirements and offshore safety standards.
* Analyse incidents, near-misses and unsafe conditions; support root-cause investigations and corrective action plans.
* Conduct internal HSE inspections, audits and follow-up actions.
* Support emergency response preparedness and drills.
Client Interaction & Reporting
* Maintain professional communication with clients regarding HSE performance, documentation, project support and KPI follow-up.
* Prepare clear HSE reports, dashboards and weekly/monthly updates for internal and external stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
* Participate in HSE improvement initiatives across the fleet and offshore projects.
* Promote a culture of safety, accountability and proactive hazard identification.
* Identify opportunities for process optimization, training needs and system enhancements.
Required Profile
Background & Experience
* Maritime or Offshore background is mandatory (HSE roles onboard vessels, drilling, offshore construction, FPSO, offshore operations, or ship management).
* Experience developing or implementing HSE plans for maritime or offshore projects.
* Familiarity with ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL and other safety and environmental standards.
* Experience with offshore project documentation and client-facing reporting is a strong asset.
Skills
* Fluent in English (spoken and written). Any additional language is a plus.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with both office and offshore teams.
* Able to interpret regulations and translate them into practical HSE procedures.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks and propose corrective actions.
