The Role
This is a site-based position, reporting into the regional Head of EHS, with responsibility for driving health, safety and environmental standards across the project.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement and maintain site health & safety policies to prevent incidents and ensure compliance
* Carry out regular site inspections and report findings to senior project leadership
* Track and close out actions from audits and previous reports within agreed timelines
* Support accident / incident investigations and produce detailed reports
* Ensure all site personnel and subcontractors receive appropriate inductions
* Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for suitability
* Oversee permits to work and ensure compliance with safe systems of work
* Ensure correct storage and handling of hazardous materials (COSHH)
* Maintain high standards of site welfare, setup, and safety signage
* Promote a strong safety culture across site teams and subcontractors
Requirements
* Proven experience working within a construction environment
* Strong understanding of site-based health & safety processes
* Relevant EHS qualification (e.g. NEBOSH or equivalent)
* Good knowledge of HSE legislation and ability to interpret it
* Strong communication skills across all levels of a project team
* Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure project environments
* Strong organisational and decision-making capability
