We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team in West Flanders. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting compliance, and contributing to efficient financial operations within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
* Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies
* Ensure compliance with Belgian GAAP, VAT, and statutory requirements
* Support the preparation of audits and liaise with external auditors
* Assist with tax filings and regulatory reporting
* Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements
* Provide support and guidance to junior accounting staff
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* 3–8 years of relevant accounting experience
* Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting standards and tax regulations
* Solid understanding of accounting systems and ERP tools
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong analytical and organizational skills
* Fluency in Dutch and good command of English; French is a plus
