MISSION
Thales Begium (Herstal site) is a world leader in precision guided rocket system for helicopters and jet aircraft. In order to meet its ambitious production and product development roadmap, Thales wants to reinforce its technical team and is looking for an engineer who wants to develop himself as an IVVQ engineer (Integration, Verification, Validation, Qualification).
As an IVVQ Engineer, you will integrate a multidisciplinary team within the Engineering department. You will contribute to the design, development and qualification activities of new products or concepts. You will be responsible for the integration, verification, validation and qualification of solutions (hardware, software and systems) in the laboratory and during test campaigns with different platforms (helicopter, vehicles, unmanned ground or aerial systems).
RESPONSIBILITY
1. Define the integration scheme for the solution/product elements in a logical and controlled manner to evaluate the design, behavior, interactions and performance
2. Verify that all requirements against which the solution/product has been designed are fulfilled in accordance with the test strategy, defined in the IVVQ Plan
3. Create tests sequences, propose test equipment & SW tools to reach good completion of tests sequences
4. Run test sequences based on debugged test scripts & write final report
5. Analyze and interpret test results and provide inputs to the subcontractors and development teams for solving issues
6. Prepare and configure equipment for Proof Of Concept (PoC) of solution
7. Document the test procedures and test reports in the IVVQ tools & generate formal documentation
8. Where possible, automate the test procedure to optimize the verification & validation campaigns
PROFILE
9. Engineering degree in mechanical, electronical or equivalent experience
10. Min 3 years of experience in engineering or R&D team
11. Passionate and curious for technologies
12. Knowledge / understanding of system development lifecycle (V-model) and IVVQ process
13. Ability to define test plan of prototypes according to delivery planning and risk evaluation
14. Rigorous and thorough while able to make 80/20 compromise based on risk and value creation assessment
15. Autonomous, self-drive, able to take and meet commitments
16. Good understanding of testing methods (vibrations, EMI/EMC, climatic environments…) and simulation methods (FEA, CFD…)
17. Proven ability in the generation of test documentation (test procedures and test reports)
18. Good communicator, can show pedagogy to explain complex problems with simple words.
19. Able to work with Agile culture
20. Experience relevant in embedded systems (electronic and software) in aeronautical, spatial, defense or automotive industry, as well as a knowledge of the standards DO-178, ARP4754 or ISO26262, is a plus
21. Fluent in English and in French
