We are currently seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join a major data centre construction project in Mons, Belgium. This position is ideally suited to a senior EHS professional with 8+ years' experience in construction or complex engineering environments, particularly within data centres, power, pharmaceutical, or heavy industrial projects .While a permanent hire is preferred, we are also open to experienced contractors .
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all EHS activities across the full project lifecycle including pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and handoverDevelop, implement, and maintain project-specific EHS plans, policies, and proceduresEnsure compliance with relevant EHS legislation, client requirements, and company standardsAct as the primary EHS point of contact for the client, contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory authoritiesOversee and conduct:Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)Site inspections, safety walks, and auditsIncident investigations and root cause analysisDrive a strong safety-first culture across a large, multi-discipline construction workforceDeliver EHS inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing trainingMonitor and report EHS performance metrics, KPIs, and corrective actionsSupport construction teams with high-risk activities including:Heavy lifting operationsEnergy systemsConfined spacesCommissioning worksLead environmental management initiatives, including waste management, emissions control, and environmental complianceProactively identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies within a fast-track construction environment
Key Requirements7–10+ years' EHS experience within large-scale construction or engineering projectsStrong experience in the following sectors: Data Centres or Power / Energy ProjectsProven experience managing EHS from pre-construction through to project completionStrong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislationAbility to work full-time on site within a dynamic construction environmentExcellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsConfident challenging unsafe practices and influencing senior project teamsExperience working for or alongside engineering or construction contractors
QualificationsDegree or Diploma in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or related disciplineNEBOSH Diploma, IOSH, or equivalent certification (desirable)
