As part of its commitment to energy transition in the built environment, our partner is developing solutions to: • Model, analyze and optimize the energy performance of buildings and districts; • Investigate the integration of technologies such as heat pumps, PV panels, batteries, EV charging, etc.; • Implement smart control strategies for HVAC, renewables, and energy storage systems; • Contribute to digital twins for real-time monitoring and optimization. This research field combines expertise in: • Energy system modelling and optimization; • Predictive control and machine learning applied to energy; • Software integration and digital simulation tools. • Develop models of complex energy systems at building or district scale; • Design optimization or intelligent control algorithms for energy management; • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate models into digital tools; • Contribute to regional and EU research projects with industrial partners. • Master or Doctoral degree in Engineering or Physics with a background in heat and mass transfers, or in Applied Mathematics with a minimum of 3 years experience in the above-mentioned topics; • Good understanding of energy transition challenges in the built environment; • Able to work collaboratively and communicate clearly. Must-Have Skills • Strong experience in energy systems modelling; • Knowledge of predictive control, energy optimization or ML for energy; • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools. Nice-to-Have • Experience with Modelica, Dymola, EnergyPlus or similar environments; • Familiarity with smart grids, collective self-consumption or e-mobility; • Previous involvement in European research projects. • A stimulatin...
