A leading international company in industrial refrigeration and gas compression systems is seeking an Automation Engineer / Team Leader Controls to join its Technical Service department. The organization operates globally, with offices in over 15 countries, and serves clients across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and other regions.

Key Responsibilities:
Management:
* Coordinate projects within the automation team
* Organize internal training sessions
* Calculate and optimize control panel budgets
* Plan and conduct site visits, as well as schedule team visits
* Advise on the appropriate selection and application of control panels
* Set team KPIs, conduct annual evaluations and regular one-on-one meetings
* Engage in meetings with both customers and suppliers
Support:
* Address technical questions from customers
* Support the sales team in selecting appropriate control panels
* Program Siemens S7 PLCs and associated networks
* Design machine control logic
* Manage communication with suppliers and subcontractors
* Share knowledge in refrigeration and heat pump technologies
Control Panel Oversight:
* Update control panel documentation
* Perform initial error checks and investigate issues
* Follow up on external production progress
* Verify and close out projects
Production Responsibilities:
* Monitor production workflows
* Oversee inventory and part orders via the ERP system
* Support after-sales services
* Track special product requirements (e.g., ATEX compliance)
* Ensure compliance with all applicable standards and CE guidelines
* Liaise with international headquarters on software and technical issues
Training:
* Deliver training sessions to clients
Candidate Profile:
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a comparable role within an technical environment
* Experience in the refrigeration industry is highly preferred
* Proficient in English (Dutch is a plus)
* Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with ERP systems is an asset
