We are currently looking for an experienced Project & Construction Manager (NE/EN/PO) to support a major international expansion project in the food industry. Our Belgian client, active in the food sector, is expanding one of their existing production sites in Brazil, increasing its capacity by a factor of three. To successfully manage this large-scale expansion on time and within budget, we are seeking a hands-on and experienced professional to coordinate local subcontractors and oversee on-site execution.
In this role, you will be involved from the engineering phase in Belgium through to full execution on-site in Brazil, ensuring smooth coordination between all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Subcontractor Coordination
* Coordinate and follow up on local subcontractors on site in Brazil
* Ensure smooth execution of works according to planning, budget, and quality requirements
* Act as the main point of contact between stakeholders and execution teams
* Procurement & Supplier Coordination
* Request quotations from suppliers and support the comparison and evaluation of pricing
* Assist in technical and commercial alignment with vendors and subcontractors
* Engineering Support
* Support engineering activities depending on your expertise
* Assist in developing layouts for new machines and installations
* Prepare IO lists and verify power requirements and technical inputs
* Contribute to multidisciplinary engineering discussions (mechanical, automation, utilities, etc.)
* Site Execution & Hands-on Support
* Provide on-site support during execution phases when required
* Take a practical, solution-oriented approach to overcome site challenges
Project Timeline & Setup
* Start: as soon as possible, latest January 2027
* Early involvement in engineering phase in Belgium is possible
* End: expected end 2027 – beginning 2028
* During execution: alternating presence between Belgium and Brazil required
Your Profile
* Proven experience in Project & Construction Management
* Strong background in the food industry (must have)
* Fluent in Portuguese (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding) (must have)
* English and Dutch also important (must have)
* Multidisciplinary technical understanding (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, automation)
* Hands-on mentality with a pragmatic and problem-solving mindset
* Strong coordination and communication skills
* Self-starter with the ability to take ownership in complex project environments
