We are looking for a 2nd Line IT Infra Support Engineer to join our infrastructure team in Wielsbeke. Unlike a traditional support role, this position focuses on the change-oriented side of IT. You will not only solve issues but also drive improvements, implement solutions, and support projects that future-proof our IT environment.
As part of a 25-member international team, you will work closely with colleagues across different domains, with a strong focus on collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. You will be trusted to take ownership, contribute ideas, and shape how IT enables the business.
This role suits someone who thrives on variety and responsibility—working with infrastructure and end-user technologies, bridging IT and production needs, and making a tangible impact in an environment where IT stability is business-critical.
Your responsibilities:
Change Work – 2nd Line IT Infra
1. Execute infrastructure change activities in O365 office & production environment.
2. Implement, test, and document changes to end-user infrastructure (endpoints, printers, scanners, mobiles).
3. Collaborate with IT colleagues and stakeholders to deploy improvements with minimal disruption.
4. Contribute to automation and optimization initiatives to increase efficiency.
5. Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and define long-term solutions.
6. Track and document all changes in line with IT standards.
7. Share knowledge to strengthen the maturity of the 2nd line team
Process Automation & development
8. Act as administrator for Atlassian tools (Jira & Confluence), including user, permission, and workflow management.
9. Develop and customize solutions to support collaboration and team processes.
10. Evaluate how Jira/Confluence changes affect the wider IT and business context.
11. Serve as point of contact for Atlassian usage, providing best practices and training.
12. Maintain governance and documentation to ensure stability and continuous improvement.
Who are you?
13. Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent by experience.
14. Solid experience in infrastructure change work (implementation, optimization, automation).
15. Hands-on knowledge of end-user domains: endpoints, printers, scanners, mobile devices.
16. Proven ownership in managing technical areas and driving improvements.
17. Strong collaboration skills with IT teams and production staff.
18. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
19. Experience with Python/ shell scripting is a plus.
20. You are fluent in Dutch and English. Fluency in French is considered as a plus.
21. Proactive, improvement-driven mindset with the ability to balance stability with innovation.
22. You are flexible and willing to take on on call support after hours in turn.
