Overview
Data & AI Product Owner role at skeyes. You develop and maintain the vision for your Data & AI products and services; you set priorities with the team and with your main stakeholders. You discuss future evolutions aligned with the strategy of skeyes and ensure business demands are clearly known and prioritized. You are responsible for maintaining operational excellence of activities and services and for Life-Cycle Management, Data and Service Continuity Plans and Monitoring. Your role stands as a bridge between Business/Operations, IT and Data & AI expertise, promoting communication between all parties. You will influence and inspire multiple stakeholders in different functions to change ways of working. You will learn quickly and be able to partner with all stakeholders, demonstrating that you understand their business, concerns and bring them value through Data & AI Products and Services. You will be joining skeyes’ innovative Data & AI team, with a track record of launching groundbreaking products like Europe\'s first CISP for unmanned traffic management. We are setting ambitious yet realistic Data & AI goals to keep skeyes at the forefront of the industry by enhancing operations and bringing greater safety and capacity to Belgian skies.
What does a Data & AI Product Owner do at skeyes?
Responsibilities
* Work together with stakeholders (Support Services team, HR, Finance, Communications, Strategy, CEO) and contributors (Admin IT, data engineers and analysts, data stewards, etc.) to build and maintain innovative data products and services serving their needs. Develop a vision and strategy regarding these data products, guaranteeing quality and trustworthy content.
* Identify solutions and product increments; determine necessary features and manage the backlog. Apply understanding of business priorities to keep an up-to-date product backlog and ensure correct items are prioritized for development. Ensure solutions are continuously supported and optimized by adding or adapting features as the business strategy changes. Follow best practices to ensure user stories are detailed with required information and acceptance criteria (Definition of Ready and Definition of Done).
* Help the team understand the data product vision and requirements and convert them into data applications and solutions, producing concrete deliverables for stakeholders (e.g., data quality controls, acceptance criteria, enriching the data & AI platform for future uses, guidelines for integration).
* Plan Implementation & Rollout: Work with business and IT stakeholders to plan rollout, training and business support to enable benefits rapidly while minimizing disruption.
* Focus on Usage & Adoption: Deliver business value by focusing on usage and adoption of the data and AI products and services, while meeting delivery expectations.
Qualifications
* You have a Master\'s degree in a quantitative field (Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Aviation Management or related analytics/statistics emphasis).
* You have at least 3–5 years of experience with Data, Analytics and AI products and services.
* A strong understanding of air traffic management concepts, airspace utilization, flight procedures, regulations, and safety standards is a plus.
* You are proficient in common data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI, SQL, Python.
* You have a pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset for product development with the ability to translate business needs into clear product requirements and strategic roadmaps.
* You are knowledgeable in project management practices; awareness of software development lifecycle and experience with Agile/Scrum is a plus. Experience with AI solutions and advanced analytics (e.g., smart assistants, predictive analytics, machine learning) is a plus.
* You can influence people and handle conflicting situations effectively and diplomatically.
* You excel in team spirit, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve goals and deliver high-quality products.
* You have excellent listening skills and the ability to ask insightful questions to understand stakeholder needs and project requirements.
* You are a good communicator and facilitator with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders; confident in leading design workshops and guiding development tasks.
* You have experience with Data Governance (Data Quality, Lineage, Classification, Metadata, etc.).
* You can handle highly confidential data with integrity and maintain trust and professionalism.
