Job Description
The Management Controller ensures the monitoring and optimization of economic and financial performance within companies and institutions in the Benelux. He/she prepares budgets and forecasts, analyzes results, and provides recommendations to support the strategy. The role acts as a business partner to management and various departments.
Main Responsibilities
Budgets & Forecasts
* Elaboration and coordination of the annual budgeting process.
* Updating quarterly/monthly forecasts.
* Monitoring results against objectives.
Reporting & Analysis
* Preparation of financial and operational dashboards.
* Variance analysis and communication to local/regional management.
* Consolidation of reporting for international groups (frequent in the Benelux).
Cost Control & Profitability
* Monitoring production costs, payroll expenses, and overheads.
* Profitability analysis by product, market, or region.
* Recommendations for improvement and optimization of resources.
Management Support
* Financial evaluation of investment projects.
* Assistance to managers in monitoring their budgets.
* Strategic advice and support to decision-making.
Systems & Compliance
* Use of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Odoo – originating from Belgium and widely used in the region).
* Implementation of BI tools (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau).
* Compliance with local accounting and tax standards in the Benelux (BE GAAP, Lux GAAP, Dutch GAAP, IFRS).
Qualifications
* Education: Master’s degree in management, finance, accounting, or economics (university or business school).
* Experience: Intermediate to senior level requiring 5+ years of experience in financial management
* Technical skills:
o Solid knowledge of local standards (BE GAAP, Lux GAAP, Dutch GAAP) and IFRS.
o Strong knowledge of taxation.
o Excellent command of Excel, ERP, and BI tools.
* Behavioral skills:
o Rigor, analytical and critical thinking.
o Strong communication skills and ability to simplify complex financial data.
o Ability to work in a multicultural and cross-functional context.
