Head of Data (Freelance Contract)
Location: Brussels, Belgium (1 day per week onsite)

We are partnering with a leading banking organisation in Belgium as they embark on a large-scale, multi-year data transformation programme. As part of this strategic initiative, they are seeking an experienced Head of Data to provide leadership across data strategy, governance, architecture and delivery.
This is a high-profile role offering the opportunity to shape the future of data within one of the country's most recognised financial institutions. The successful consultant will work closely with senior stakeholders to establish and execute a long-term data vision that supports business growth, regulatory requirements and digital innovation.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and drive the enterprise-wide data strategy across the organisation
* Lead data governance, data quality and data management initiatives
* Oversee the design and evolution of the organisation's data architecture and platform landscape
* Build strong relationships with executive stakeholders and business leaders
* Drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making across the business
* Ensure alignment with regulatory, compliance and risk management requirements
* Provide leadership across data engineering, analytics, governance and architecture functions
* Manage third-party vendors, consulting partners and delivery teams
* Establish best practices, standards and operating models for data management
Experience Required
* Proven experience operating as a Head of Data, Data Director or Senior Data Leader within complex enterprise environments
* Strong track record of delivering large-scale data transformation programmes
* Experience defining and implementing enterprise data strategies
* Deep understanding of data governance, data management and regulatory frameworks
* Strong knowledge of modern data platforms, cloud technologies and data architecture principles
* Experience managing senior stakeholders at C-level and board level
* Excellent leadership, communication and influencing skills
* Previous experience within banking, financial services or other highly regulated sectors is highly desirable
