Description :
We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of our data architecture, ensuring its scalability, security, governance, and alignment with our business and technological objectives. A central pillar for our Data Engineering, Data Science, and business teams.
As a Data Architect, the responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
• Define and Drive Data Strategy: Elaborate the vision and roadmap for the data architecture, aligning with business objectives and in close collaboration with various stakeholders.
• Design and Optimize Architectures: Design comprehensive data architectures (Data Lake, Data
Warehouse, etc.) and select appropriate technologies to meet analytics, AI, and operational needs.
• Establish Standards and Governance: Define norms for data modeling, quality, security, and
performance, and implement governance principles (lineage, data dictionary).
• Guide and Promote Best Practices: Provide technical oversight to Data Engineering/Science teams
during implementation, ensure system consistency, and promote best architectural practices within
our department.
Profile:
• Language: English fluent + French and Dutch fluent
• Master’s degree in quantitative field (computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, etc.) or a related discipline with a strong focus on data analysis.
• Strategic vision and ability to anticipate: Thinks long-term and aligns data strategy with business
objectives.
• Technical leadership and influence: Inspires trust and convinces teams and stakeholders of the
best architectural approaches.
• Communication and Pedagogy: Explains complex concepts clearly and interacts effectively with
both technical and non-technical audiences. Fluent in French, Dutch, and English.
• Analytical and Pragmatic: Quickly understands complex issues, proposes clear solutions, and
balances ideal architecture with operational and budget constraints.
• Experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer with significant architectural responsibilities (minimum 5 years of experience)
• Advanced expertise in data architecture (Data Warehouse, Data Lake) and dimensional data
modeling for relational databases.
• Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms (e.g. expertise in GCP services like Dataflow, Cloud
Storage, or Cloud Azure services like Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Databricks),
programming languages (Python), SQL optimization, data security/compliance (GDPR), and
DevOps/DataOps principles for automation
