Within this dynamic environment, the Embedded Systems Department (DSE) is seeking a Test Manager to lead the design and implementation of a unified testing and release strategy across two key technical domains:
* Embedded Platforms (PFE) – C/C++ based systems deployed on rolling stock
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
* Define and implement a high-level testing and launching strategy (HLTLS) tailored to both PFE and SAE environments
* Translate strategy into actionable testing practices (functional, integration, performance, robustness, etc.)
* Integrate automated testing into a robust CI/CD pipeline
* Develop coordinated release strategies considering inter-system dependencies
Automation & CI/CD
* Design automated testing architecture covering:
o Unit, integration, and regression tests
o Infrastructure and connectivity tests (e.g., API, unstable networks)
o Non-functional and performance testing
* Define CI/CD pipelines, triggers, and quality gates
Coordination & Governance
* Collaborate with PFE and SAE team leads to align deliverables
* Monitor quality indicators and adapt strategy based on field feedback
* Establish structured reporting for program and project managers
Operational Contribution
* Actively participate in testing tasks, especially on the SAE side
* Draft and review test plans, automated scripts, and bug reports
* Engage in Agile ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives
Profile & Qualifications
* Experience: 5+ years as a Test Manager or QA Lead in embedded and/or web environments
* Testing Expertise: Strong command of testing methodologies (ISTQB certification is a plus)
* Technical Skills:
o Embedded systems (C/C++) and web (PHP)
o CI/CD tools: GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps
o Test management tools: XRay, TestRail
o Familiarity with unstable network environments and robust error handling
* Soft Skills: Structured writing, strategic thinking, autonomy, team spirit
* Languages: Fluent in French or Dutch; English proficiency is a plus
