Description de l'offre

Position overview

As Project Manager, you will represent New ERA in key European projects and standardisation processes that shape the future of reuse systems. You will coordinate New ERA's contributions to the INTERPOOL consortium, and ensure New ERA's positions are consistently reflected across relevant technical and policy forums. You will also support the delivery of New ERA's internal Working Groups and flagship initiatives (such as the Reuse Barometer and Reuse Watch). This is a hands-on, outward-facing role combining stakeholder engagement, facilitation, structured coordination, and strong execution skills. You will work closely with the team and report directly to the Director General.

Main tasks:

INTERPOOL Project

* Represent New ERA within the EU-funded INTERPOOL project and contribute to consortium governance and outputs.
* Provide support to relevant work packages and ensure New ERA deliverables are met on time.
* Translate project discussions into actionable insights for New ERA members and team.

Standardisation and technical alignment

* Represent New ERA in key fora where reuse system standardisation is discussed (e.g., CEN, GS1, PR3).
* Coordinate inputs from members to support consistent, evidence-based contributions.
* Monitor emerging technical requirements and interoperability discussions impacting reuse systems.

Working group leadership and member coordination

* Lead and support New ERA Working Groups (e.g., Standardisation Digitalisation).
* Prepare agendas, background notes and proposals; facilitate discussions and capture decisions and action points.
* Support alignment across members on practical priorities, timelines and outputs, maintaining momentum between meetings through structured follow-up.

Delivery support for New ERA initiatives

* Contribute to the development and coordination of New ERA outputs.
* Support research, partner coordination, drafting and review cycles for publications and updates.
* Produce concise internal and external notes that translate evidence into clear messages and next steps.

Representation, stakeholder relations and events

* Represent New ERA in relevant industry and policy events, including preparation, participation and debrief notes.
* Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and like-minded organisations to strengthen coalitions and impact.
* Identify speaking, partnership and visibility opportunities aligned with New ERA priorities.

Internal coordination, operations and organisational support

* Contribute to team meetings, internal planning and coordination, and support General Assembly and other New ERA events.
* Support light administrative and financial management.
* Co-build internal tools and resources (e.g., CRM, knowledge platforms) to improve coordination and institutional memory

Profile

Experience and background

* 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in EU projects, stakeholder engagement, standards, or industry association roles (e.g., EU-funded consortia, networks, associations, consultancies, NGOs, companies).
* Experience representing an organisation (working groups, conferences, technical committees, multi-stakeholder settings) is ideal
* Familiarity with standardisation ecosystems and/or data infrastructure (e.g., CEN, GS1, ISO, technical specs, interoperability discussions) is a strong asset.
* Previous exposure to circular economy, and specially reuse systems for packaging, is a plus.
* Proven ability to coordinate across partners and deliver under structured workplans (e.g., work packages, deliverables, timelines), ideally in an EU consortium context.

Skills and competencies

* Stakeholder management & facilitation: able to design and run productive meetings, build consensus, manage diverse member expectations, and keep momentum (agendas, minutes, actions, follow-up).
* Strong writing and synthesis: can turn complex technical/policy discussions into clear outputs (briefings, summary notes, positions, inputs to consultations, internal updates).
* Project coordination: comfortable juggling multiple workstreams, tracking actions, and delivering on time with limited supervision.
* Standards/technical-policy bridge: ability to translate between policy goals and technical enablers (system design, data, interoperability).
* Comfort with tools and light operations: confident using collaborative tools (Google Workspace), CRM/knowledge platforms, basic budget/admin follow-up, and structured documentation.
* Event representation: confident preparing for panels & meetings, networking, and capturing outcomes in actionable debriefs.

Education and languages

* Master's degree in EU affairs, political science, law, environmental studies or related field, business, or related field.
* Excellent command of English (written and spoken); additional EU languages are an asset (French in particular).

Personal qualities

* Structured, reliable, and detail-oriented: you keep track of actions and deliverables and make collaboration easy.
* Diplomatic and emotionally intelligent: you can navigate sensitive discussions and keep a neutral, constructive tone.
* Proactive and solution-oriented: you spot gaps, propose ways forward, and unblock situations without waiting to be asked.
* Comfortable with ambiguity: you can adapt priorities as new topics emerge and still deliver.
* Service mindset: you enjoy supporting members and partners and helping groups reach practical outcomes.
* Mission-driven: motivated by impact and committed to accelerating the transition to scalable reuse in Europe.

Job specifications

* Location: The position is based in Brussels, with occasional travel across Europe.
* Contract: Full-time (38 hours) permanent contract.
* Remote work: Flexible working arrangements, including the possibility of teleworking.
* Remuneration: Between € 35,000 - 40,000 annual salary gross, depending on profile and experience.
* Holidays: Standard legal holidays (20 days) plus 4 additional days off.
* Benefits: Meal vouchers and transport allowances are provided.
