What you will do
In the context of several EU-funded projects, we are working towards the wafer-scale integration of diamond membranes on a silicon nitride waveguide platform. Diamond color centers embedded in nanophotonic cavities have been shown to be powerful building blocks in quantum sensing as well as quantum communication and quantum computing applications. Thus far most of the work has been limited to sample scale demonstrations however. In this project, we aim to upscale the integration process, starting from the micro-transfer printing platform developed within the Photonic Research Group, an associated lab of imec at Ghent University.
You will be responsible for:
1. Developing the technological processes to integrate thin film diamond nanocavities on a SiN platform.
2. Characterizing the fabricated devices, on functional level.
3. Depending on previous experience: supporting the design of the devices.
You will work in the Photonic Research Group, an associated lab of imec at Ghent University. You will collaborate with several other teams within imec.

Who you are
4. You have a PhD in Telecom, Photonics, Applied Physics or Quantum Optics.
5. You have experience in photonic integrated circuit fabrication and measurement.
6. Some design experience is a plus.
7. Previous experience in quantum photonics is an advantage but not a must. This project is an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the field.
8. You are fluent in English.
