THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated climate risk data analyst to join our team.

Gathering climate risk-related data is one of the main data challenges for banks in the coming years. In the face of booming regulatory requirements and market pressure, banks need to gather, store, and aggregate new sustainability metrics (overcoming data availability issues) and design a new set of methodologies and proxies to deal with the uneven quality of those metrics.

The ideal candidate will combine strong data analytical skills with an understanding of climate risk concepts and regulatory reporting solutions. As a hands-on data manager, they will be able to implement solutions that not only meet data quality standards but, most importantly, address business requirements that are meaningful for climate risk managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* You participate in or lead engagements within our Risk Advisory practice for banking clients to help implement climate risk reporting solutions and the underlying data infrastructure.
* You participate in or lead climate risk engagements for banking clients.
* You assist clients in processing and reporting climate risk-related reports: from data collection, enrichment of sustainability metrics and proxies, calculations, to reporting.
* You analyze complex and evolving regulations to advise banks on measuring and reporting their climate impact.
* Your role includes conducting workshops with business users, gathering requirements, defining functional and technical specifications, and supporting IT testing.
* You design a conceptual data model to store sustainability metrics (Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, geolocations) at appropriate levels of granularity.
* You investigate reconciliation issues with other reporting systems, such as accounting systems or source systems.
* You advise clients on implementing data governance policies and procedures.
* You develop and maintain documentation for data processes, including data lineage, dictionary, and quality, to comply with BCBS 239 standards.

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

* You hold an MA or MSc in management sciences, applied economics, or computer sciences.
* You have at least 2-4 years of experience in financial institutions with a solid understanding of banking, climate risk, financial products, and data and regulatory reporting processes.
* You possess outstanding analytical skills.
* You are proficient in SQL, SAS, Python, or other programming languages.
* You are familiar with BCBS 239 and its data governance, quality, and risk management standards.
* You can work autonomously in a result-oriented environment.
* You have good communication, writing, and presentation skills, capable of explaining complex issues simply and professionally.
* You are fluent in English (verbal and written).

NICE TO HAVE

* Knowledge of European climate risk regulation (Taxonomy, CSRD, Pillar III, STE, etc.) or general prudential regulatory frameworks (FINREP, CRR2, CRR3, Basel IV).
* Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.

WE OFFER

* The opportunity to join a diverse, multinational, dynamic team with a broad range of skills.
* An excellent working environment with opportunities to define your specialization and career path within a flat, flexible structure.
* The chance to take initiatives and responsibilities quickly in a fast-growing company.
* Extensive training programs tailored to your needs, both technical and soft skills.
* Coaching and mentoring by experienced colleagues.
* Flexible working arrangements: remote/hybrid, full-time or part-time.
* Attractive salary and benefits (health insurance, pension, mobility, etc.).
* Travel opportunities within Europe.
