General job description: You will be responsible for the
developments and production preparation of ELAUT products. You
bring in new ideas, technologies and developments with the aim of
launching, together with R&D, innovative games. You interact
with the product manager to build and refine mechanical roadmaps
and report to the innovation manager that oversees the project,
involving all stakeholders in order to optimally implement their
knowledge and experience in the design from the start. You focus on
cooperation within and outside your department to achieve optimal
results. You do this by facilitating a project operation across all
departments and implementing an ELAUT agile operation. You manage a
team of engineers (mechanical and production engineering) and are
responsible for the planning and follow-up of their activities. You
optimize existing and work out new procedures to improve the
operation of your department and ELAUT and ensure optimal
deployment of all systems. With your team you ensure the delivery
of a complete production file for each new unit consisting of
production and assembly drawings of all parts and units, ERP-BOM,
product configurator, assembly manuals and test equipment and
procedures. Tasks and responsibilities: - Lead and manage a team of
mechanical engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and skill
development. - Define and implement best practices for mechanical
engineering, encompassing: ° Mechanical prototyping using
SolidWorks. ° Part and assembly process
simplification/standardization ° Clean and well-managed master data
and processes (PLM / engineering change flows / …) - Translate
high-level product features into detailed technical proposals,
including material selection and design specifications. - Oversee
and contribute hands-on to engineering changes, ensuring quality
and adherence to deadlines. - Collaborate with production to follow
up and resolve mechanical production issues and avoid them in the
future - Collaborate closely with procurement to: ° Resolve
supplier issues and ensure quality ° Identify and manage
requirements for cost-saving opportunities (e.g., subcontracting)
Qualifications and Skills - Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical
engineering or a related field. - Minimum of 10 years of experience
in a mechanical engineering and experience in a leadership role. -
Proven track record of leading and motivating a team to achieve
project goals. - Strong understanding of mechanical design
principles and manufacturing processes. - Experience with
SolidWorks or similar 3D modelling software, sheet metal in
particular, PLM. - Knowledge of electro-mechanics (e.g.,
electro-motors / linear motors). - Excellent communication,
collaboration, and problem-solving skills. What we are offering: -
