As our Accounting & Controlling Manager, you'll build and strengthen our financial backbone. You'll take ownership of budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, and investor reporting, working closely with our Office Manager (who handles day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping). This is a key role with a lot of responsibility but to manage expectations; you will have a very operational role in the beginning. This means prepping the budget, prepping the daily/weekly reporting and doing repetitive accounting stuff. Over time, you'll help shape financial strategy as we scale.Key Responsibilities Budgeting & Financial Oversight Lead annual budgeting processes with department leads Track spending and help teams stay aligned with their budgets Deliver clear, actionable budget performance reports quarterly Controlling & Internal Reporting Maintain financial controls and ensure policy compliance Analyze expenditures and support financial efficiency Provide timely internal reports and variance analyses Investor & Stakeholder Reporting Prepare financial materials and reports for investors, grantmakers, and partners Ensure clarity and consistency in financial communications Support data collection for audits, fundraising, and reporting Collaboration & Compliance Work with the Office Manager to oversee financial workflows (payments, invoicing, reconciliation) Ensure tax, audit, and regulatory compliance (with external support where needed) Help prepare for audits and due diligence processes Strategic Growth (Future Scope) Contribute to long-term planning and financial forecasting Help develop tools and models that support smart growth and impact measurement Requirements Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or similar and proven experience in accounting & finance controlling positions. Strong skills in budgeting, cash planning, and financial analysis Excellent command of Excel or Google Sheets and hands-on experience with Odoo accounting software. Ability to clearly explain financial concepts to non-financial colleagues High attention to detail and strong sense of ownership Comfortable working independently in a fully remote, high-trust environment Excellent verbal and written skills in ENG, Dutch & FR is a plus.
