Managing director/ hr-tech company

Our client is a well-established HR-Tech company, that develops tools and recruitment tests, automating and objectifying selection and coaching processes.

Their clients are a.o. government institutions, hospitals, police zones and various private companies. We are now seeking a MANAGING DIRECTOR who can manage this well-established company into its next phase of growth.


The Role


The role requires a dynamic leader with a strong orientation towards customer satisfaction, software product development, and commercial growth, including increasing brand visibility.

The Managing Director will oversee all day-to-day operations, manage a multidisciplinary team of 20+ professionals (IT, research, account management), and have full P&L responsibility.


His/Her focus will be a combination of:


Leadership and Vision

* Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company’s strategy, challenges, and market dynamics.
* Act as the visible and active leader of the company, embodying its values and mission.
* Inspire and mobilize the team through a hands-on, positive leadership style.
* Ensure high team engagement through effective recruitment, coaching, conflict resolution, and performance development.
* Nurture a collaborative and high-performing company culture.


Product development & Operational Excellence

* Take full ownership of the company’s software product and drive its strategic evolution in close collaboration with the IT and research teams.
* Define a clear, ambitious product vision aligned with current and future client needs.
* Translate client feedback into actionable product improvements that deliver an intuitive, efficient, and high-value user experience.
* Ensure the product consistently meets and exceeds expectations in terms of functionality, usability, and client impact.
* Implement structured processes to track and improve client satisfaction (e.g., NPS, user surveys, feedback loops).
* Be the champion of service excellence across all customer touchpoints.
* Identify and lead initiatives for automation, simplification, and support optimization, including client advice, issue resolution, and onboarding processes.


Business Development

* Take full ownership of commercial development, with a hands-on approach to growing revenue, expanding the client base, and unlocking new market opportunities.
* Actively represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums, positioning the company as a thought leader and trusted partner in the HRTech space.
* Lead and contribute to external communication initiatives, in collaboration with the marketing team, to boost brand awareness and support inbound growth.
* Oversee strategic account management and act as the primary point of contact for key clients and partners, ensuring long-term relationships and high satisfaction.
* Identify strategic partnerships and business development initiatives that strengthen the company’s value proposition and growth potential.


Financial and Resource Management

Overseeing financial performance, including revenue and cost management.



The Profile


You will need to have a very entrepreneurial mindset, getting the job done, no-nonsense, with a high IQ and EQ.

As the Managing Director you will need a thorough understanding of the key success factors of our client’s business.


The other main profile and competency requirements can be summarized as follows:


* Proven experience as a Managing Director, General Manager, or senior leadership role in a B2B SaaS or HRTech company.
* Solid understanding of corporate recruitment dynamics, including the tools, processes, challenges, and decision-making logic used by HR teams and hiring managers.
* Experience working closely with HR departments, talent acquisition teams, or in the recruitment technology sector is a strong advantage.
* Min. 10 years of leadership/management experience in the context of small or medium size businesses.
* Leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate and empower others, regardless of their background
* Can-do attitude – the Managing Director is expected to get the job done despite sometimes challenging circumstances
* Results- and action-oriented; a real problem solver
* Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks and competing priorities
* Ability to stay calm under pressure
* Digitally savvy and a keen user of technology
* Fluent in Dutch with strong written and verbal communication skills in French & English
* Willingness to be based in Brussels (East)
* Open to working via own management company
