Medical Science Liaison – BeneluxC&C Life Sciences is currently searching for a Medical Science Liaison to act as a trusted scientific partner to healthcare professionals, serving as the key interface between the medical community and the organisation. This role requires deep scientific knowledge in infectiology / antimicrobial chemotherapy, combined with excellent communication, relationship-building, and strategic insight.You will support informed clinical decision-making, contribute to optimisation of hospital-based patient pathways, and enhance standards of patient care by providing expert scientific input on anti-infective therapies.
Key responsibilities
Scientific expertise and communication
Maintain a high level of scientific knowledge in infectiology, staying current with emerging literature, clinical studies, and treatment guidelinesProvide accurate, balanced, and timely scientific information to healthcare professionals, including responding to complex medical queriesAct as a scientific resource internally, supporting Medical Affairs, Marketing, Field Force, and Key Account Management with expert input and trainingDevelop a thorough understanding of the organisation's anti-infective products and their positioning in hospital treatment pathwaysStakeholder engagement
Build and sustain credible relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders within the Benelux regionConduct hospital visits to engage in scientific discussions, case reviews, and evidence-based presentationsOrganise and participate in advisory boardsRepresent the organisation at national and international congresses, symposia, and scientific meetingsIdentify and train potential speakers to support dissemination of anti-infective scientific data
Medical insight and internal collaborationCapture, analyse, and report insights from the medical community to inform medical strategy, training, and educational materialIdentify gaps in clinical practice and emerging trends in anti-infective therapyCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams through joint field activities and scientific training initiativesEnsure accurate documentation and reporting of field activities
Research and clinical supportMonitor and support investigator-initiated studies and other clinical projects related to anti-infective therapiesProvide scientific input for ongoing and future medical projects
Candidate profileMinimum 2 years' experience in Medical Affairs or an MSL roleStrong scientific credibility with excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skillsProven ability to build peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and hospital decision makersAbility to synthesise complex scientific information and communicate it clearly to healthcare professionalsStrong organisational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities independentlySelf-motivated, flexible, and comfortable operating in a field-based role
