The Assignment
For one of our industrial clients, we are looking for an experienced Senior Business Consultant – SAP Controlling to support the design and setup of a manufacturing controlling model in SAP.
You will work closely with senior finance stakeholders in an international environment and play a key role in translating business and manufacturing needs into a robust SAP Controlling (CO) framework. This is a business-driven role, not an IT or technical SAP configuration position.
Your Role & Responsibilities
SAP Controlling – Business Design
* Design and structure the SAP Controlling (CO) model for a manufacturing environment
* Translate operational and manufacturing processes into financial and controlling structures
* Define cost flows from production to inventory and financial reporting
* Act as a bridge between Finance, Operations, and SAP/IT teams
Manufacturing & Cost Controlling
Set up and define:
* Production cost structures
* Production orders and order closing logic
* Overhead allocation and cost absorption
* Support the setup of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product costing
* Prepare the controlling model for:
* Single-product start-up evolving into a multi-product environment
* Multi-entity and tolling manufacturing structures
* Support manufacturing financial reporting and closing processes
* Define and analyze variances (plan vs. actual, cost drivers, efficiency)
* Ensure alignment between operational data and financial results
Business Partnering
* Advise senior finance stakeholders on controlling design and best practices
* Challenge and translate business requirements into scalable controlling solutions
* Operate autonomously in a fast-evolving, transformation context
Your Profile
Experience & Background
* Senior-level experience in business controlling within a manufacturing and/or industrial environment
* Strong hands-on experience with SAP Controlling (FI/CO) from a business perspective
* Proven experience designing or reshaping controlling models (not only operating them)
* Solid understanding of production processes, cost allocation, and financial flows
Key Skills
* Strong business acumen and analytical mindset
* Ability to structure complex environments and translate them into clear models
* Pragmatic, autonomous, and stakeholder-oriented
* Comfortable working in international and cross-functional teams
Languages
* Any additional national language (Dutch, French, Polish, Italian) is a strong plus
