Device Technician – R&D
Are you a hands‐on problem solver who enjoys building, testing, and improving real hardware? We're looking for a Device Technician to join our fast‐paced R&D team and support the development of next‐generation inhalation devices.
In this role, you'll work closely with engineers while also independently planning and performing testing activities. You'll design and build test setups, run mechanical and functional tests, analyse results, and help drive continuous improvement across prototypes and components.
What You'll Do
* Design and develop in‐house test setups, jigs, fixtures, and prototypes.
* Create 3D CAD models for test parts and mechanical components.
* Build and iterate prototypes using 3D printers and CNC milling tools.
* Perform hands‐on mechanical and functional testing of devices and subassemblies.
* Prepare test protocols, configure test equipment, and ensure accurate data collection.
* Analyse and document test results, providing recommendations for design improvements.
* Maintain lab equipment, tools, and prototyping machinery.
* Work collaboratively with engineers and cross‐functional teams.
* Prepare shipments of samples and coordinate with internal teams as needed.
What You Bring
* Background in mechanical or electromechanical engineering, or experience in a physical testing laboratory.
* Strong hands‐on skills with mechanical or electromechanical test setups and prototype assembly.
* Experience using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo.
* Practical experience with 3D printing, CNC milling, and workshop tools.
* A proactive, problem‐solving mindset with strong attention to detail.
* Good organisational and documentation skills.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
* Good written and spoken English.
* Bonus: experience with medical devices, lab safety, or laboratory equipment maintenance.
