Software Development Team Lead
– Wolters Kluwer You will be working on an ambitious, high‑impact project that serves as a key growth pillar for the organization. The primary focus will be on enhancing Flowin, Wolters Kluwer's SaaS‑based e‑invoicing solution, by expanding its digital capabilities—including deeper integration with electronic invoicing standards like Peppol. As a Software Development Team Lead, you will lead a cross‑functional development team and contribute hands‑on to the design and development of our software products. You will shape technical direction and team culture, ensuring high quality and continuous improvement. This role combines leadership with full‑stack technical ownership in an agile, fast‑paced environment, taking end‑to‑end responsibility across product development, customer needs, and production operations. Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Coaching
Foster a productive, motivating, and collaborative team environment. Conduct regular one‑on‑one meetings to support personal development and performance. Ensure the team has the skills and support needed to function as a cross‑functional unit. Promote a DevOps mindset and agile best practices.
Technical Execution
Contribute to backend development, infrastructure as code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines. Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and high‑performance software solutions. Drive continuous improvement through refactoring, testing, and code quality initiatives.
Collaboration & Product Development
Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to define and deliver features. Participate in Scrum ceremonies and agile planning processes. Act as a mentor and technical guide for other developers. Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
Qualifications
Proven ability to lead and mentor a development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of aligning technical teams with business goals and effectively managing stakeholder expectations. Fluency in English is a must. Dutch and other languages can be considered a plus. Solid expertise in Java development, with hands‑on experience in building scalable, maintainable, and high‑performance applications and tools. Using modern Java frameworks like Spring Boot; background in older frameworks is a plus. Solid understanding of API design (REST, OpenAPI, GraphQL) and microservices architecture. Working experience with queueing solutions (AWS SQS/SNS, GCP PubSub). Hands‑on experience with databases: SQL (Oracle, Postgres) and NoSQL. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Gitlab, Jenkins, Bash scripting). Proficient with development tools: Git, Maven, IntelliJ. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), Kubernetes, and serverless architectures. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, AWS CDK, Pulumi, Ansible, Helm). Comfortable working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban). Strong DevOps mindset: “You build it, you run it.” What We Offer
