They are hiring for an Accounts Receivable & Collections Accountant for their Waterloo location. Your New RoleThis is a newly created Accounts Receivable & Collections Accountant role, driven by ongoing business growth. The position offers broad exposure across core accounting processes, with a primary focus on accounts receivable and collections, alongside supporting responsibilities across accounts payable and month-end activities.Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing Accounts Receivable with an emphasis on collections across both large enterprise customers and smaller independent clients
2. Reviewing credit limits, monitoring aged receivables, and preparing AR aging reports for management
3. Ensuring timely and accurate customer billing and statement generation through Microsoft Business Central
4. Supporting Accounts Payable activities, including invoice matching, approvals, and validation
5. Assisting with month-end close processes, including reconciliations of AR, AP, inventory subledgers, and the general ledger
6. Acting as backup support for administrative and sales-related processes as needed
7. Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and more advanced use of Microsoft Business Central
What You’ll Need to Succeed
8. 1–2+ years of experience in collections or accounts receivable (more experienced profiles are also strongly encouraged to apply)
9. Confident and professionalmunication skills, particularly when speaking with customers by phone
10. Exposure to accounting processes beyond pure collections (AP, reconciliations, reporting) is an asset
11. Open to industry background and education level; practical experience and attitude are key
12. A steady, reliable approach with strong attention to detail and follow-through
