We currently have a requirement for a Quantity Surveyor. The role will include all aspects of Quantity Surveying both pre and post contract across a variety of sectors. The successful candidate will be equally capable of working independently or as part of a larger team and will report directly to the managing surveyor. PM Group offers interesting and varied project experience in structured environment with appropriate training and support.
Responsibilities
Pre-Contract responsibilities would include:
1. Preparing capital cost estimates
2. Advice on building economics
3. Producing lifecycle cost estimates
4. Advice on tendering procedures and contract arrangements
5. Drafting of contract packages including advice on amendments to standard forms
6. Prepare pricing documents for tender packages
During the tendering phase responsibilities would include:
7. Providing advice on tendering procedures
8. Draft instructions to tenderers
9. Development of tender evaluation criteria
10. Drafting of PQQ questionnaires
11. Handling queries during tender period
12. Commercial evaluation of all tender submissions
13. Negotiation with tenderers
Post Contract duties would include:
14. Valuing progress on site for interim certificates
15. Ascertainment of amounts due to contractors for price variation
16. Valuing proposed instructions
17. Drafting responses to contractors’ correspondence
18. Determination of amounts of claims
19. Expediting contractors’ insurances, bonds and collateral warranties; and valuating contractors’ final accounts
Qualifications
20. Bachelor or Master degree in Quantity Surveying or similar required.
21. Extensive multi-sectoral experience
22. Life-science, mission critical and industrial experience welcome.
23. Ability to work on complex issues and report in a clear and concise manner
24. Minimum of 10 years' experience carrying out pre and post contract duties
25. Excellent organisational skills with an ability to produce accurate work to project deadlines
26. Excellent reporting and communication skills
