Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our team in Machelen, Belgium. As an integral part of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
1. Manage and maintain financial records, ensuring data integrity and accuracy
2. Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts
3. Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
4. Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
5. Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and provide insights
6. Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures
7. Participate in audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
8. Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
9. Assist in budgeting and financial planning activities
10. Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and best practices
HR related tasks
11. Payroll support
12. Maintaining of employee master data
13. Administration towards Social Security, Insurances, others
Qualifications
Main competences:
14. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent work experience
15. Proficiency in accounting software, preferably SAP, Exact
16. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices and financial reporting standards of IRFS and local GAP Belgium (preferably also NL)
17. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
18. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
19. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
20. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
21. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
22. Excellent time management and organizational skills
23. CPA certification or equivalent is preferred
24. Experience with financial reporting and analysis is a plus
25. Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) is beneficial
26. Experience in process improvement initiatives is desirable
