Job description As Sales Engineer, You will join an Energy team with a strong international footprint to accelerate the commercial growth of advanced technological solutions applied to electricity markets. The core challenge of this role is to bridge technical expertise and business impact, transforming complex solutions—including algorithmic and mathematical concepts—into clear, tangible value for demanding institutional customers. Overall Objective of the Role: Act as the bridge between technical teams (engineers, researchers, software engineers) and customers by clearly communicating the value of products and services, understanding each customer’s specific needs, and directly contributing to commercial success while building long-term relationships. The position is based in Louvain-la-Neuve, with openness to remote candidates, and offers strong international exposure. Key Responsibilities & Activities: 1) Commercial Development & Revenue Growth: Drive revenue growth by leveraging deep market expertise and technical understanding to: - articulate a strong and differentiated value proposition - address customer objections - contribute effectively to closing sales. 2) End-to-End Sales Cycle Ownership : Take ownership of the technical aspects of the sales cycle, including: - technical proposals - responses to RFPs - customer presentations. Actively participate in sales meetings to: - guide discussions, - strengthen the offering, - contribute to go-to-market strategies that maximize market penetration and sales opportunities. 3) High-Value Customer Relationship Building : Develop and nurture long-term relationships with institutional customers by acting as their trusted technical advisor. Proactively identify opportunities for: - upselling - cross-selling, - long-term strategic partnerships that generate sustained revenue. 4) High-Impact Demos & Presentations : Design and deliver compelling technical demos and presentations that: - directly address customer pain points, - clearly demonstrate tangible business value, - support successful conversions. 5) Cross-Functional Collaboration (Sales Enablement & Market Feedback) : Work closely with product and marketing teams to: - ensure sales collateral is technically accurate and compelling - share customer insights and market feedback - contribute to continuous improvement of products and sales effectiveness. 6) Market Intelligence & Competitive Advantage: Maintain a competitive edge by continuously monitoring: - industry trends, - competitor offerings, - technological developments, - enabling strong positioning of solutions in the market. Profil - Master's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., engineering, computer science) or equivalent experience. - Strong technical knowledge and understanding of T&D needs (System Operation, Market, Planning…) is essential. - Minimum 3 years of experience. - Experience in a commercial position (sales or technical sales role) is a plus. - Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Proven ability to build relationships, understand customer needs, and provide effective solutions. - Ability to manage multiple topics in parallel, adapt to dynamic environments, and work autonomously with strong organization skills. - Proficiency in using CRM systems and sales tools. - Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed, with frequent travel (˜ 30% or more), participation in conferences, and customer engagements that may occasionally last several weeks, across Europe, Asia and North America.
