Job Description
As a Sr. AI/NLP Backend Engineer at Reavant.ai, you will directly contribute to building a Co-Pilot for commercial real estate (CRE) professionals. Reavant’s AI Agents can help real estate professionals create, parse, interpret, and interrogate documents such as contracts as well as act autonomously to perform otherwise manually time-consuming tasks.
You'll tackle a mix of experimental (20%), architectural (15%), and engineering (65%) challenges to drive our product and service to the next level. Working closely with our hands-on CTO and Sr. AI Engineer, you will create or adapt functionality with the right balance of quality, performance, speed, and usability.
As our second technical hire, you will have a significant and visible impact on our product, service, and company.
Key Responsibilities
Activities where you will make a difference include:
· Design and run experiments & evaluations on various Machine Learning tasks (Generative AI, classic NLP or other) in a multi-agent setting
· Design and build an agentic user workflow, interaction, or widget
· Design, engineer and monitor offline or online data processing workflows
· Productize i.e., translate an experimental subprocess from a notebook to the SaaS code base
· (Re)architect agentic features to make the product a better version of itself
· Adhere to modern coding standards, write unit tests where necessary
· Follow the newest technologies and smartly pick the most promising and relevant ones
Requirements
· 4+ years' experience writing high-quality production code
· Autonomous self-starter with backend engineering expertise, eager to learn and teach by doing
· Open to reviewing code and having your code reviewed
· Proficient in Python (must), Django (must), Celery (must) and major GenAI libraries (LangChain, LangGraph, CopilotKit or similar)
· Comfortable in modern development environments (GitHub/GitLab, DevOps, automated testing, Cursor, etc.)
· Experience with different databases (relational, vector, graph) and cloud environments, including the DevOps part (Docker)
· Relevant degree in Computer Science, AI, Engineering, or equivalent experience
· Fluent in English; professional knowledge of Dutch or German strongly preferred
· Comfort with various European languages as an NLP practitioner
· Familiar with NextJS, TypeScript, Streamlit, or similar frontend technologies
· Familiar with Knowledge Graphs for data extraction and document linking
