THE SCOPE
With 30 years of history, today Gaming1 is one of the international leaders in both land-based and online games of chance (casino games, sports betting and poker). Its evolution at the heart of innovation is accompanied by a diversification and specialization of positions, with the creation of new cutting-edge jobs. As part of its sustained growth, Gaming1 is looking for a Principal Architect.
YOUR ROLE
The Principal Architect is an autonomous, high-impact architectural leader who operates with minimal oversight and maximum ownership. Reporting directly to the Architecture Director, this individual is expected to take a strategic architectural vision, challenge it intelligently, refine it, translate it into actionable roadmaps, and drive execution across engineering teams end-to-end.
This is not an advisory or theoretical role — it is a hands-on, sleeves-up, trench-level leadership position. The Principal Architect shapes enterprise architecture, produces high-quality designs, navigates stakeholders, and follows through relentlessly until outcomes are achieved.

Knowledge
* Deep architectural expertise across distributed systems, platform engineering, integration, and data-heavy environments
* Strong mastery of system design, scalability, performance, resilience, and automation
* Broad, pragmatic technology fluency with the ability to evaluate solutions without dogma
* Comfort switching between strategic architecture, detailed design, and hands-on delivery
Leadership
* Operates independently and proactively — makes progress without waiting for direction
* Challenges the Architecture Director's vision constructively and evolves it where needed
* Communicates context clearly and sets architectural guardrails teams can deliver within
* Acts as a natural authority who earns trust through competence, clarity, and follow-through

* Converts strategic intent into executable designs and roadmaps
* Drives engineering outcomes with pragmatic decisions tied to measurable results

Pragmatic Enterprise Architecture Skills
* Production of crisp architectural designs, capability models, and decision records
* Ability to model and communicate architecture in tools such as Ardoq
* Skilled in due diligence, deep-dive investigations, and hands-on prototyping
Strategic Expectations
* Own the architectural agenda end-to-end with minimal supervision
* Ensure designs are roadmapped, delivered, validated, and iterated
* Stay close to engineering teams — unblock, align, challenge, and support
* Step into the trenches when needed, from reviewing PRs to validating workflows
