Overview
You will be accountable for H&S performance across PM Group Benelux and projects and for improving the stature and impact of the Health and safety function in this region.
This role will report to the Operation Manager Benelux and will be based in Belgium or Netherlands.

Responsibilities
Job Role and Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
1. Lead the development of Health & Safety Leadership & Culture across the Benelux.
2. Implement appropriate group objectives and maintain appropriate KPI’s to continually improve PM Group’s Health and Safety performance in the Benelux.
3. Report to the Regional Leadership Team and other forums on Health and Safety initiatives, objectives and performance.
4. Implement PM Group’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing policy across in the Benelux.
5. Support projects throughout their lifecycle from proposal, through design, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, handover and operational stages.
6. Provide health, safety and wellbeing advice to management and project teams.
7. Assure legal / regulatory compliance with respect to latest occupational safety, health and welfare requirements for the Benelux.
8. Ensure full compliance with local and national Health and Safety legislation pertaining to the project construction phase.
9. Develop project-specific health & safety strategies, programmes and plan partnership with Group Health and Safety.
10. Co-ordinate construction health and safety programme elements addressing site access, security, project induction, first aid, welfare and emergency arrangements.
11. Co-ordinate and manage on-site construction health and safety resources.
12. Communicate and co-ordinate the adoption of industry best practices in health and safety on all projects.
13. Establish a process of active health and safety monitoring through audits and inspections of site conditions and contractor activities.
14. Monitor and report on health and safety performance and challenges using predefined leading and lagging health and safety performance indicators.
15. Influence employee work practices through dialogue, relationship building and behavioural safety coaching.
16. Ensure appropriate and effective emergency response, case management, incident investigation and reporting mechanisms are in place to facilitate learning from incidents (LFI).
17. Qualified to support a future ISO 45001 certification process.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
18. Primary Degree in Engineering, Science or equivalent (MBO,MTS,LTS)
19. A recognized Diploma in the Occupational Health and Safety preferable
20. Chartered member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or equivalent qualification would be an advantage
21. An advanced knowledge of health and safety principles with proven technical skills in occupational safety and health disciplines
22. Minimum 10 years experience
23. Experience and proven capabilities in developing and implementing world class health and safety management systems in a construction projects environment
24. Experience in developing and implementing behavioral safety programmes
25. Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong influencing and negotiation skills.

29. Fluent English speaker with a preference for a second language an advantage (Dutch or French)
