Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring execution according to design, schedule, and safety standards
2. Coordinate contractors managing interfaces between civil, mechanical, electrical, and piping disciplines
3. Ensure compliance with QEHS standards, Belgian and EU regulations; conduct audits, enforce safety protocols, and manage permits
4. Monitor progress and budget, track costs, manage change orders, and report variances
5. Oversee quality assurance, inspections, and compliance with specifications and ISO standards
6. Communicate regularly with Engineering, Project Director, and key stakeholders
7. Collaborate with Umicore discipline leads, commissioning teams, and site operations
Requirements
8. Master’s or bachelor’s degree in civil, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering
9. Minimum years of experience in industrial construction
10. Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical or petrochemical projects
11. Proven track record managing projects > €M
12. Strong knowledge of construction management principles
13. Familiarity with Belgian building codes, Seveso directives, and EU safety standards
14. Proficiency in project planning tools (Primavera P6, MS Project)
15. Experience with piping is a strong asset
