Our client, a leading organization in the energy sector, is seeking a Privacy Consultant to support their Data Protection Office. The professional will ensure compliance with privacy legislation and evaluate data processing risks while collaborating with legal and security departments.
Responsibilities
* Inform and advise on legal obligations stemming from GDPR and sector‑specific energy regulations.
* Monitor the organization's compliance with data protection laws and internal privacy policies.
* Conduct risk‑based assessments focusing on CIA principles and privacy impacts.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for national and regional data protection authorities.
* Lead awareness initiatives and training sessions to educate personnel on privacy requirements.
* Collaborate with information security teams to implement and maintain organizational security measures.
* Evaluate the privacy implications of emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and business continuity plans.
Requirements
* You have 5+ years of experience in providing practical GDPR advice and ensuring compliance.
* You bring 5+ years of experience working within the Belgian energy sector and its regulatory context.
* You're experienced in performing IB/Privacy risk assessments and DPIA.
* You possess a valid DPO certificate.
* You have a Bachelor or Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
* You're proactive and capable of working both independently and in a team setting.
* You possess strong interpersonal skills to manage diverse internal and external stakeholders.
* You are fluent in Dutch with a C2 level.
Nice to Haves
* Experience with the definition and implementation of organizational security measures.
* Knowledge of BCM/DRP and AI privacy implications.
* Familiarity with information and access management principles.
