Bambaw – Sustainable Consumer Goods
Bambaw is expanding its textile product range (bedding, reusable textiles, household fabrics), and we’re looking for a Textile Product Developer to help us engineer, validate, and launch high-quality, durable, and high-performance textile products.
If you love fabrics, fibre science, functional performance (cooling, antibacterial, durability), and solving problems with suppliers → you’ll thrive here.
🔧 What You Will Do
You’ll own the full textile development lifecycle — from fibre selection & spinning → fabric construction → testing → production readiness → post-launch improvement.
You will:
* Develop textile solutions from feasibility → prototypes → PPS → launch
* Engineer fabric blends (fibre selection + spinning + yarn specs)
* Define constructions (GSM, weave/knit types, twist, finishing) to reach target performance
* Conduct textile performance testing (cooling, breathability, antibacterial, moisture-wicking)
* Run wash & durability tests (shrinkage, pilling, colourfastness, tensile, seam strength)
* Align factories on stitching, tolerances, measurement charts, and finishing standards
* Lead structured prototyping rounds and iterate quickly with suppliers
* Approve PPS and validate supplier readiness for bulk production
* Review customer returns monthly; investigate root causes and drive corrections
* Improve existing products (Gen1 → Gen1.1) through data-driven textile enhancements
* Build the specs, testing protocols, and QC tools that scale our textile category
🧠 What You Bring
Must-have:
* 3–5+ years in textile development, garment technology, textile engineering, or QC
* Deep understanding of textile performance (cooling, antibacterial, absorbency, drape, breathability, durability)
* Experience developing fiber blends (viscose/cotton, bamboo/cotton, TENCEL blends, recycled fibers…)
* Experience working with spinners, mills, and factories on yarn & fabric engineering
* Ability to run structured textile tests and translate results into specs and tolerances
* Strong problem-solving abilities for recurring textile issues (shrinkage, pilling, GSM variations…)
* Excellent documentation habits (spec sheets, test reports, QC guidelines)
* Strong communication with suppliers (Asia/EU) and ability to drive alignment
Nice-to-have:
* Experience with bedding or home textiles
* Knowledge of thermal comfort standards or functional finishing techniques
* Experience improving existing textile SKUs post-launch
* Familiarity with third-party inspections and Go/No-Go decisions
🧩 Who Will Love This Role
* Textile engineers who enjoy hands-on development from fiber → yarn → fabric → product
* Product developers who like solving durability and comfort challenges
* People who love building clear specs, tolerances, test plans, and scalable processes
* Individuals motivated by delivering high-performance sustainable textiles
Not a fit if:
Your experience is mainly creative or visual design without manufacturing, testing, or performance depth.
🌍 Why Join Bambaw
* Work on meaningful, sustainable textile products used daily
* High ownership and autonomy
* Collaborative, fast, mission-driven environment
* Your work directly impacts durability, comfort, and customer satisfaction
