Role Definition:

This is a hybrid role. 50% of the time you are accountable for managing the dairy sales business in NW EU (Benelux, UK, Ireland) and 50% of the time you are responsible for field implementation of the Novus C.O.W.S. program, providing technical assistance in Europe with cow comfort field work and research, including on-farm data collection, giving presentations, training, analysis of qualitative and quantitative data. The NOVUS C.O.W.S.® Program is a science based, on farm assessment system that benchmarks key cow comfort and welfare measures to help dairy producers improve herd well being, productivity, and long term sustainability.

General Responsibilities:

• Achieve or exceed sales targets for the assigned territory.
• Further develop, maintain/grow relationships with key customers and distributors to understand pains and decision-making drivers.
• Maintain close relationships with customers to understand pains and decision making drivers.
• Initiate, organize, and conduct field and customer support around expertise of cow comfort.
• Travel with Sales team members and distributors and give technical assistance in meetings with customer focused on cow comfort (and nutrition).
• Update and generate documentation about the COWS program and cow comfort including presentation and training materials in coordination with Marketing.
• Perform COWS assessments on-farm with customers and do the analysis and follow up.
• Contribute to the right spirit within the team and communication within the organization.
• Adhere to the Novus Management System (NMS), Novus Integrity System (NIS) and all policies and procedures related to position assignment.

Key Knowledge/Experience Requirements:

• Master or PhD degree in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science or adjacent fields.
• Minimum 2 years of sales experience in animal (dairy) nutrition sector.
• Experience and passion for animal welfare/cow behavior/cow comfort
• Experience in presenting or teaching in front of groups.
• Good understanding of practical dairy activities at farm, including management practices.

Skills/Competences Requirements:

• Team player.
• Proven understanding of the livestock industry, thorough knowledge of the animal nutrition and health businesses, with special focus on cow comfort and dairy nutrition.
• Proven ability to establish, grow and manage long-term relationships with customers for optimum results.
• Strong cross-functional skills to effectively work with colleagues, build relationships, manage conflict, and achieve broader group objectives.
• Good understanding of practical dairy activities at farm, including management practices.
• Seasoned and pro-active self-achiever.
• Strong public speaking.

Other Essential Requirements:

• Fluent in English
• French and/or German will be very highly valuable.
• Based in Benelux, France or western part of Germany.
• The position requires frequent travel (40%).
