SOA Architect – Hybrid (2 days on-site)
Contract: 12 months | Location: BRUSSELS
NL/FR (EU citizens only)
We're looking for an experienced OA Architect with a strong background in SOA & API architecture to join our team on a hybrid basis.
What we need:
* EU citizenship
* Fluency in Dutch or French + English
* 3+ years in OA or similar roles
* Hands-on experience with Java, SOAP/WSDL, REST, XML/JSON
* Knowledge of SOA/API design patterns, microservices, and integration technologies
* Agile/Scrum experience & strong documentation skills
Tools & Tech you'll work with:
Oracle Service Bus, Axway, WebLogic, DataPower, GIT, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, SOAPUI, ELK stack
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
* Development experience in Java or other programming languages
* WS standards: SOAP, WSDL, WS-Security
* API standards: OAuth2, Swagger, JWT
* Solid understanding of SOA and API principles (loose coupling, microservices)
* SOA design patterns and enterprise integration patterns
* Knowledge of REST principles
* XML/JSON transformations and interpretation
* Strong technical writing and documentation skills
* Messaging models (e.g., publish–subscribe)
* Testing methodologies and web service testing tools (SOAPUI, ReadyAPI, Postman)
* UML and BPMN modeling
* Agile/Scrum methodologies, Scrum sprint experience
* Scripting languages
* Development methodologies: EUP, RUP, Scrum, Kanban
* Project management methodologies: PMBOK, PRINCE2
* ITIL processes
* Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF)
* Best practices for interoperability
Tools & Technologies:
* Oracle Service Bus, OBTM, Axway, WebLogic integrations, DataPower
* Web service editors (Eclipse, XML editors)
* Source control: GIT
* Client frameworks: Axis2, CXF, .NET, JAX-WS RI, Rampart
* Collaboration tools: Jira, Confluence, Mural, Miro
* CI/CD: Jenkins, Hudson
* ELK stack
* Hands-on experience with web services lifecycle (design → development → testing → deployment → support)
