Your Role
We are looking for a passionate and forward‑thinking Software R&D Engineer with knowledge of AI‑assisted programming to join our team in Ghent, Belgium. In this role, you will contribute to the development, maintenance and documentation of advanced CAM software used in PCB manufacturing.
You will work in close collaboration with international colleagues in Japan and China, as well as with customers worldwide. Our software plays a key role in enabling the accurate and efficient production of printed circuit boards.
Key Responsibilities
* Process and manage PCB production data in a wide variety of formats
* Analyse graphical data, identify issues and report findings
* Propose and implement effective solutions to detected problems
* Modify and optimise graphical data using a broad set of tools
* Prepare and generate test data for optical and electrical inspection methods
* Generate production‑ready outputs in multiple formats
* Control and monitor in‑house laser photoplotters
* Maintain and improve existing software to meet evolving requirements and enhance performance
* Develop new software solutions for emerging applications and alternative approaches
* Work across both graphical and technical application domains
* Take ownership of a set of applications while supporting team members when needed
* Handle a mix of tasks ranging from bug fixes and small enhancements to larger development projects
* Contribute to the full software development lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, testing and documentation
Your Profile
* Proactive, hands‑on problem solver who takes initiative
* Strong team player with good communication skills
* Customer‑focused and able to translate technical needs into solutions
* Motivated to build a long‑term career
* Master’s degree in computer science / electronics or equivalent
* Fluent knowledge of English
* Solid programming experience (academic or professional)
* Technical skills (using our own programming capabilities test)
* Experience with AI‑assisted development tools
* Good algorithmic skills
* Knowledge of the Windows environment
Nice to have
* Knowledge of C/C++, UNIX environments, and Eclipse development is considered an advantage
What we offer
Gross salary range: €4000 - €4700
A full-time position (39.33 hours/week)
Additional statutory leave (8 days for full-time position)
