Data/AI Engineer
We are seeking a talented *Data/AI Engineer* with expertise in cloud-native platforms and artificial intelligence services to join our central data and AI team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing large-scale, secure, and intelligent data platforms in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Developing and maintaining a cloud-based *Data Platform using Databricks* to meet evolving business and technical requirements.
* Leading the deployment and serving as the technical owner of multiple *AI-related services*, such as document intelligence and generative AI tools.
* Building and managing *data ingestion pipelines* to support AI and analytics initiatives.
* Overseeing governance processes, data security, and compliance across cloud services and data components.
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on AI and data innovation projects.
* Providing technical leadership in infrastructure design, service integration, and solution architecture.
* Offering guidance to peers and contributing to internal knowledge through documentation and mentoring.
Requirements
Technical Expertise:
* At least 3 years of experience working with Databricks in a production environment.
* Hands-on experience with Azure AI Services, including:
o AI Foundry
o AI Search
o OpenAI Service
o Document Intelligence
* Solid experience in Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
* Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and ETL pipeline development.
* Competency with Spark for distributed data processing.
* Strong grasp of performance optimization, pipeline scalability, and data modeling best practices.
* Familiarity with data governance and security in cloud environments.
Language Requirements:
* Full professional proficiency in English.
* Knowledge of Dutch or French is considered an asset.
Certifications:
* If applicable, include Microsoft Azure certifications (specify type).
