Job Description
We are looking for a Freelance BI Expert with expertise in cloud migration and data management to join our clients team. You’ll play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing data solutions within Azure Synapse and Databricks, while ensuring data quality, performance, and scalability.
* Design, build, and implement data management solutions in cloud environments (Azure Synapse, Databricks).
* Adapt and optimize existing SQL queries (particularly in Teradata) for Azure Synapse / SQL Azure.
* Support the migration of data models (LDM, datamarts), identifying gaps and implementing solutions.
* Automate SAS scripts and ensure their execution and maintenance in the cloud.
* Develop, test, and validate SQL and SAS scripts to guarantee data integrity and consistency.
* Modify views in Teradata and create new ones within the AGILE Data Warehouse platform.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver performant, robust, and compatible solutions.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
* Proven experience in data management, ideally within a cloud migration project.
* Hands-on knowledge of SAS Enterprise Guide (mandatory), including scripting and automation.
* Strong SQL skills, with the ability to translate Teradata queries into Azure Synapse SQL.
* Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and Databricks.
* Understanding of data modeling concepts (LDM, datamarts) and data historicality.
* Analytical, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with excellent communication skills.
* Familiarity with ETL tools, CI/CD processes, and automation is a plus.
* Fluent in French or Dutch, with a good command of English.
