About the Role
We are seeking a Senior ICT Expert Angular / Java for our client, embedded in a high-impact, long-term project in Brussels. This freelance assignment is your opportunity to drive the digital transformation of public sector applications, shaping robust, scalable solutions that matter to millions. What You'll Be Doing
* Lead the end-to-end development of Java and Angular-based applications within a SCRUM team environment.
* Engage directly with users and stakeholders to translate needs into robust, scalable technical solutions.
* Design, implement, and optimize microfrontend architectures and RESTful web services.
* Drive quality through automated testing using Cypress and ensure code excellence with best practices.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact features and enhancements.
* Champion Agile methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
* Mentor and support team members, sharing expertise in Java, Angular, Spring, Hibernate, and NgRx.
* Ensure compliance with technical standards and contribute to architectural decisions.
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 8 years of demonstrable experience in Java and Angular development.
* Proven expertise with NgRx, Spring, Hibernate, and Cypress (5+ years for Cypress and Hibernate).
* Thorough, hands-on knowledge of Java programming language and Javascript ecosystem.
* Track record of delivering in Agile/SCRUM teams, with a builder's mindset and high degree of independence.
* Experience designing and implementing microfrontend architectures and RESTful APIs.
* Strong communication skills, able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience working on government or public sector projects (3+ years preferred).
* Higher education (Bachelor or Master) in a technical or engineering field, or equivalent experience.
* Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR level C2 (mandatory).
* Full-time availability (100% work regime) for the duration of the project.
* On-site presence in Brussels required (remote work is not possible).
