Role Overview
As a Presales Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in our sales engagements, partnering with Account Executives and Solution Sales teams to position the value of Skillsoft’s and Global Knowledge’s learning solutions. You will serve as a trusted advisor to customers—bridging business objectives with tailored learning strategies, that demonstrates how our portfolio can solve real-world challenges.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new function within the organization, influence our presales methodology, and be a critical part of our customer growth journey.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Consulting: Partner with the sales team to understand customer needs, pain points, and objectives; design and present compelling learning solutions that demonstrate how Skillsoft’s learning platform, incorporating Percipio, and the Global Knowledge ILT portfolio address those needs.
2. Customer Discovery & Qualification: Lead customer discovery sessions to uncover business drivers, learning strategy alignment, and success criteria.
3. Presentations & Demonstrations: Deliver tailored presentations, that demonstrates the proposed solution, as well as additional options that highlight the value and differentiation that Skillsoft, Global Knowledge can provide
4. Proposal Support: Collaborate with sales, customer success, and services teams to create solution designs, scopes of work, and value propositions, proposals, RFP’s and tender documents that support and enable the sales and delivery process.
5. Thought Leadership: Stay current on learning trends, certifications, upskilling needs, and evolving workforce development strategies to consult customers with authority and insight.
6. Enablement & Evangelism: Help educate internal stakeholders on presales processes and best practices as we establish and evolve this new function.
7. Presales Documentation & Reporting Standards: Provide accurate and timely reporting on presales activities, customer engagements, opportunity status and issues to the Regional Team Leader, supporting effective management reporting and strategic planning. Ensure all relevant artefacts – such as solution designs, proposals, cost models and discovery notes are documented and stored in the designated team repository to support knowledge re-use, collaboration and business continuity.
8. Cross Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams across Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Product Management and Customer Success to design effective training solutions, align on go-to-market strategy, and ensure smooth execution. Support revenue growth, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction by sharing insights, coordinating efforts, and maintaining continuity across the sales and delivery cycle.
Required Skills & Experience
9. 4+ years of professional experience in a presales, solution consulting, or technical sales support role—preferably within EdTech, SaaS, enterprise training, or digital learning with a Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience.
10. Strong understanding of learning and development (L&D), IT certifications, or skills transformation programs.
11. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
12. Ability to simplify complex solutions and connect them to customer value.
13. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where you help build processes and frameworks from the ground up.
14. Self-starter with high levels of curiosity, resilience, and drive.
Preferred Qualifications
15. Experience with learning platforms (ILT, LMS, LXP), content libraries, or talent development systems.
16. Familiarity with major IT certifications (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco) and workforce development trends.
17. Consulting experience with global enterprise customers a plus.
Regional Requirements
18. This role supports customers and stakeholders across Europe, and therefore requires a strong understanding of regional business practices and cultural nuances.
19. Fluency in English and Dutch is essential, additional language skills relevant to the region such as French are highly desirable.
20. The candidate should be based in the region they support, with the ability to work effectively across time zones and engage with customers.
21. Occasional travel within the region may be required to support strategic customer engagements or internal team collaboration.
