Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Material Planner to support operations within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment based in Ghent. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted flow of materials to support production schedules while optimizing inventory levels and supplier performance.

This role requires strong coordination across supply chain, production, procurement, and logistics teams to maintain operational efficiency and minimize supply disruptions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage material planning schedules aligned with production requirements
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure material availability to support manufacturing operations
• Coordinate closely with suppliers to track deliveries, resolve shortages, and manage lead times
• Analyse material requirements using ERP/MRP systems
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks impacting production
• Manage stock accuracy and support inventory optimization initiatives
• Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure smooth inbound material flow
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within supply chain and planning processes
• Generate planning and KPI reports for internal stakeholders
• Participate in daily operational meetings and escalation management

Required Skills & xsgtzvk Experience

• Proven experience as a Material Planner, Supply Planner, or Production Planner within the automotive sector
• Strong understanding of automotive supply chain and manufacturing operations
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic production environment
• Fluent in English; Dutch is preferred
