What you will be doing
1. Strategic Financial Leadership & Performance Management
Lead the development and execution of the financial strategy for Belgium & Luxembourg, ensuring accurate, timely reporting, forecasting, and insight that drive performance. Deliver monthly and annual financial results, oversee financial planning cycles, and provide clear analysis and strategic recommendations to support growth and profitability.
2. Business Partnering & Commercial Insight
Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team, providing commercial guidance, scenario modelling, and strategic input on customer deals, pricing, long-term contracts, and new service launches. Build strong C-level relationships with clients and support key customer negotiations to maximise value creation.
3. Finance Transformation & Systems Improvement
Modernise the finance function through enhanced tools, predictive analytics, forward-looking models, and improved processes. Lead the transition from traditional accounting to an insight-driven finance capability, including optimisation of reporting, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, and the adoption of new systems or standards (e.g., US GAAP to IFRS).
4. Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure strong financial governance, internal controls, and regulatory compliance across Belgium & Luxembourg (including US GAAP/IFRS, JSOX, ISO, ISMS, EFQM). Oversee statutory accounts, audits, tax compliance, legal reviews, and risk assessments, working closely with Group Finance, Group Legal, and auditors to maintain a strong control environment with zero major findings.
5. Leadership & People Development
Lead, develop, and motivate the finance function creating a high performance culture with clear priorities, strong communication, and continuous development. Ensure the organisation always has the capabilities needed to meet its financial and strategic objectives.
6. Cash, Treasury & Asset Management
Drive robust cash flow forecasting, debtor management, working capital performance, and treasury oversight in collaboration with the Shared Service Centre. Protect company assets and ensure optimal liquidity to support business stability and future growth.
7. Strategic Projects, M&A & Group Initiatives
Lead and contribute to key transformation projects, operating-model improvements, acquisitions, and group-wide programmes. Assess M&A targets, lead due diligence activities, and support integration efforts. Play an active role on the senior management team, contributing to policy development, strategic planning, and long-term business direction.
You will ideally have
* Master's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
* A recognised professional accounting qualification such as Chartered Accountant
* An MBA or advanced business qualification is highly desirable
* Proven senior finance leadership experience (minimum five years as Finance Director or equivalent), ideally within an IT Services or technology organisation with revenues of €200m+.
* Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing finance teams, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Strong technical accounting expertise, including lease accounting, revenue recognition, SOX compliance, and deep familiarity with US GAAP and IFRS.
* Financial systems and technology capability, with experience in optimising finance, reporting, and accounting systems.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial insights into clear, actionable messages for executive stakeholders.
* Demonstrated leadership strength, including team development, stakeholder influence, and the ability to build strong cross functional relationships.
* Highly developed analytical, conceptual, and organisational skills, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
* Track record of developing and implementing innovative financial strategies in partnership with executive teams.
* Comprehensive experience in commercial accounting, compliance, regulatory reporting, and governance.
* Strong knowledge of Belgian legal and regulatory requirements.
* Fluency in Dutch, French, and English (written and spoken).
* Extensive leadership experience in senior finance roles, with a demonstrated ability to shape strategy and act with strong business and customer orientation.
* Recognised financial expertise, with the technical depth required to serve as the company's leading authority on financial matters.
* Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with an open, engaging, and collaborative style.
* Proven team player who builds strong relationships across functions and operates effectively in a matrix environment
* Track record of driving process improvement, operational efficiency, and modernisation within finance or related business functions
