Internship PositionThe internship will focus on working on the design, testing, and the improvement/development of ISRU technologies such as Oxygen Production, building materials using local materials to construct habitats or infrastructure, and identifying Earth technologies that could be applicable for lunar surface.The successful candidate will be part of the Future Projects & Exploration (FPX) Team from our Systems Department and will mainly report to the FPX Team Lead.Location: Sint-Stevens-Woluwe (Brussels Area)Duration: 3 to 6 MonthsStart date: As of September 2025.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with various research teams across the EU via online channelsAnalyse and model various ISRU systems and their interactions to optimise efficiency and reliabilityResearch earth-based technologies and lunar breadboards/equipment to:Gather relevant datasheets and technical informationArchitecture Design, Block-Level Design, or Schematic DesignProvide early prototypesExamine the potential economic benefits and market opportunities associated with ISRUSupport the business development activities.Skills and ExperienceA master’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Sciences or Computer SciencesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong CAD skills (preferably SolidWorks)Knowledge in:ChemistryElectro-chemistryMechanisms and dust related impacts on the equipmentGood knowledge of space or lunar environmentInterest in the space industry and emerging technologiesGood written and spoken EnglishKnowledge of relevant software and tools (e.G., Excel, modelling softwares). ____________________________________About UsSpace Applications Services is a company at the forefront of space technology development and the provision of services for human spaceflight, exploration and earth observation missions.
