A leading European construction contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to support the delivery of complex, large-scale engineering and construction projects across sectors such as data centres, advanced technology, and life sciences.The role is site-based and responsible for the safe, timely, and high-quality execution of mechanical works, coordinating closely with project management, engineering, quality, commercial, and EHS teams.Key ResponsibilitiesManage site safety in collaboration with the project and EHS teams, ensuring full compliance with procedures, reporting requirements, and subcontractor standards.Lead by example in all safety practices, delivering toolbox talks, safety briefings, and participating in regular site walks and meetings.Ensure the construction team follows the site-specific quality plan, driving a right-first-time and clean-build approach.Manage NCRs, punch items, welding documentation, qualifications, and quality close-out activities.Manage all site labour, supervision, and subcontractor activities across assigned scopes of work.Plan and execute daily and weekly work plans, allocate work packs, and track progress against programme.Coordinate with other disciplines to avoid clashes and ensure efficient sequencing of works.Monitor productivity, attendance, and resourcing levels, addressing site constraints proactively.Manage materials, tools, plant, and MEWPs, ensuring availability, compliance, maintenance, and correct documentation.Support construction scheduling, contributing to short-term, look-ahead, and overall programme delivery.Coordinate closely with engineering teams to manage transmittals, design changes, and technical clarifications.Track dayworks, report constraints, support cost forecasting, and provide performance data to the commercial team.RequirementsStrong knowledge of the full design and construction process.Proven ability to manage people, programmes, and multiple work fronts.Trade background or relevant third-level qualification.Demonstrated experience coordinating and delivering large-scale construction projects.Minimum of four years' experience in a Mechanical Construction Manager role or similar.Strong communication skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.Solid IT skills, including MS Office and project scheduling tools.
