Our client, a key supplier across multiple NATO frameworks, is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer (Security Accreditation) to support security accreditation activities across the full lifecycle of NATO communication and information systems.
This is a freelance, on-site position in Brussels.Weekly travel to local offices (such as Braine-l'Alleud) is expected.
Key responsibilities
Provide security accreditation advice and guidance to project and system managers throughout the full lifecycle, including inputs to project proposals and invitations for bid.
Conduct security risk assessments in support of accreditation, including identifying threats and vulnerabilities across all assets, assessing residual risks, and providing risk management recommendations.
Contribute to solution architecture by identifying and applying relevant security directives and identifying risks arising from proposed technical solutions.
Suggest alternative solutions or countermeasures to mitigate identified risks.
Define and manage scoping, requirements definition, and prioritisation activities related to security accreditation.
Develop, manage, and maintain accreditation documentation, including description, security accreditation plan, security risk assessment report, security requirement statements, security operating procedures, and security test and verification plan.
Witness security testing in accordance with approved Stvps and coordinate remediation plans with the relevant security accreditation authority.
Build and sustain effective communication with security accreditation boards
Represent the agency on security accreditation matters.
Stay abreast of technological developments relevant to the area of work.
Required skills & experience
Minimum 2 years' experience in security accreditation of major acquisition and/or development projects within large organisations.
Experience with security risk assessment methodologies and tools.
Experience in planning, design, and implementation of security components.
Good knowledge of NATO security policy and supporting directives.
Prior experience working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements.
Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organisation, including:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 2 years' post-related experience, or at least 6 years of progressive relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
CISA and/or CISSP certification (desirable).
Valid NATO secret security clearance (mandatory).
Legal right to work full-time in belgium (mandatory).
