Our client is an international service provider with a strong financial centre located in Groot‑Bijgaarden. The organisation is known for its professional approach, stable growth and continuous focus on efficiency and quality. To strengthen the Corporate Accounting team, they are looking for a Junior Accountant.
Your new role
As a Junior Accountant, you will support the Senior Manager Corporate Accounting & Consolidation in the preparation of periodic and annual financial reporting. You will contribute to the accounting of the group’s holding and financing entities and ensure the accurate processing of transactions, reconciliations and reports.
You prepare journal entries, trial balances and account reconciliations, assist with interim and annual financial statements and maintain contact with auditors. In addition, you support VAT filings and payment processing.
Within treasury, you follow up on intercompany and external loans, reconcile schedules and monitor daily cash‑pool movements. You actively contribute to process improvements and internal controls and assist in optimising and documenting financial processes. With the support of experienced colleagues and internal training, you will quickly grow into your role.
Your profile
For this position as Junior Accountant, we are looking for a candidate who:
* Has obtained a bachelor’s or master’s degree, complemented by an initial relevant experience in accounting, controlling or reporting.
* Has an excellent command of English, complemented by a strong knowledge of Dutch and/or French, which is a clear asset in this role.
* Works confidently with Excel and has an interest in financial IT tools, knowledge of JD Edwards or SAP S/4HANA is an advantage.
* Has an initial understanding of Belgian or Luxembourg accounting principles, basic knowledge of IFRS is an additional asset.
* Feels comfortable taking responsibility and can handle tasks independently.
* Has an interest in digitalisation and enjoys working with modern financial systems.
