Job Title
Crestron Engineer (Pack Platform)
Location
Keerbergen, Belgium (remote work possible)
About A-Knowledge
A-Knowledge delivers high-end AV, IT, and automation solutions for luxury superyachts, using our in-house platform Pack—a powerful configuration-based environment that standardizes automation logic, simplifies deployment, and ensures unparalleled reliability on board.
Our systems run on some of the world's largest and most sophisticated yachts, supporting both guest experiences and crew operations. We combine deep AV/IT engineering, modern software thinking, and a unique platform-driven approach.
As we grow, we are looking for a Crestron Engineer who is eager to learn Pack, understand our architecture, and help us deliver consistent, world-class solutions.
Role Overview
This is not a traditional "write SIMPL Windows from scratch" job.
Pack abstracts most of the Crestron programming into structured models, definitions, and reusable building blocks. SIMPL Windows becomes primarily:
* a runtime for Pack's generated logic
* a debugging and diagnostics environment
* a configuration and signal-mapping layer rather than a place for ad-hoc logic
As a Crestron Engineer, you will work inside the Pack ecosystem to configure, deploy, and diagnose AV/IT automation systems on yachts. You will contribute to extending Pack's capabilities, follow engineering patterns, and help ensure robust, maintainable system designs.
Responsibilities
Engineering & System Development
Build, configure, and deploy Crestron-based AV/automation systems using Pack as the main environment.
Work with SIMPL Windows, Toolbox, and other Crestron tools primarily for:
* integration and configuration
* debugging, diagnostics, signal tracing
* applying Pack-generated logic
Contribute to expanding Pack modules, templates, and integration patterns.
Integration & Architecture
Understand yacht AV/IT system architecture (audio, video, networking, control).
Integrate hardware endpoints, drivers, and third-party systems into Pack-based projects.
Collaborate with our R&D team to identify improvements to workflows, modules, and processes.
Deployment & Support
Assist with on-site or remote commissioning of new systems.
Troubleshoot AV/IT and Crestron-related issues using Pack's tools and Crestron debug environments.
Ensure high reliability and resilience—critical in the superyacht ecosystem.
Collaboration & Growth
Work closely with our CTO and engineering team to refine Pack and evolve our Crestron layer.
Engage in continuous learning across Pack, Crestron, AV/IT, and automation.
Requirements
Core Technical Skills
Experience with Crestron environments (SIMPL Windows, Toolbox, Smart Graphics/VTP, SIMPL+, etc.).
Understanding of AV and automation concepts (switching, routing, control logic, endpoints).
Ability to debug signal flows and system behavior logically.
Preferred / Strong Advantage
Experience with C# or familiarity with modern programming concepts (Pack uses C# internally; you don't need to write large applications, but you should be comfortable learning).
Experience with complex or custom Crestron deployments (e.g., yachts, luxury residential, enterprise).
Experience with advanced audio systems
Experience with managing IT systems
Soft Skills
Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
Good communicator, able to work with both technical teams and yacht crew.
Curious, proactive, and eager to learn Pack deeply.
Comfortable with structured engineering workflows.
What We Offer
Work on iconic projects in the luxury superyacht sector.
A cutting-edge engineering environment centered around the Pack platform.
A company culture built on trust, craftsmanship, and innovation.
A competitive compensation package.
Opportunities for growth in:
* Crestron engineering
* Software development
* AV/IT system design
* Pack ecosystem extensions
You'll become one of the few engineers in the world who can work with Pack at a high level—a skillset that is both unique and future-proof.
