Zaventem mobile on-site works | Electromechanical Project Engineer | NL/FR/EN | Railway Sector Your new company To anticipate a future retirement, Hays is recruiting a Project Engineer on behalf of a well-known Belgian player in railway signalling and electromechanical installations. Active for over 50 years, this human-sized company (around 25 employees) stands out for its strong technical culture, collaborative approach, and openness to diversity. Your new role As a Project Engineer within the public transport technologies department, you will be responsible for the technical and operational coordination of railway projects. You will work alongside two senior engineers, one junior engineer, and five technicians. You will provide technical support during the sale, delivery, and commissioning of materials intended for NMBS, VVM De Lijn, Infrabel, etc. You will be the point of contact between clients, suppliers, and internal teams. Your responsibilities include: - Project management: Technical (electrical and mechanical), planning, quality - Participation to on site works with the team, on-site meetings, and technical follow-up - Technical input to drafting offers in response to public tenders - Prototype assembly, commissioning, and testing - Compliance with ISO 9001 and VCA standards - Collaboration with maintenance and administrative teams - Participation in major fairs and supplier events abroad (Europe) You will work from the Zaventem office, on-site, or remotely (after the training period). Site visits are possible throughout Belgium (currently many clients are located in the north of the country). Your profile - Master’s degree in industrial engineering (mechanical, electromechanical, or electrical) - 5 years of experience in electromechanical engineering - Fluent in French or Dutch, and English (minimum B2 level in two of the languages); knowledge of German is a plus - Demonstrates assertivity, autonomy, flexibility, and stress resilience - Solution-oriented and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
