Global Consultancy based in Brussels are looking for a for Intregration Architect - Apache Camel & Red Hat for a Major Finance Client.
Responsibilities
Lead a greenfield integration architecture initiative, designing and building a reusable Apache Camel Integration Framework from the ground up — your fingerprints will be on the foundation
Architect the full end-to-end technical solution across infrastructure, network, application, and security layers, shaping decisions that will define the integration landscape for years to come
Design high availability, scalability, and resiliency patterns for a modern, microservices-based integration platform powered by Red Hat and open-source technologies
Own the migration strategy from legacy WebMethods to Apache Camel, defining the principles, approach, and reusable patterns that make the transition seamless and sustainable
Establish integration standards, best practices, and reusable components grounded in Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP) — naming conventions, error handling, logging, and beyond
Define and industrialise the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for integration projects, embedding DevOps and platform automation into the DNA of the team
Drive operational readiness by shaping the logging, monitoring, and observability strategy across the platform
Validate and govern the security architecture of the integration platform in alignment with enterprise security standards
Coach and elevate a senior engineering team on Apache Camel fundamentals, advanced concepts, modern Java-based integration practices, and migration strategies
Collaborate closely with internal architects and subject-matter experts, contributing to collective architectural decisions in a highly collaborative environment
Job Requirements (Mandatory)
Proven experience as an Integration Architect with hands-on expertise in Apache Camel and Java-based integration development
Strong background in Red Hat integration technologies and the open-source middleware ecosystem
Solid understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP) and their practical application in large-scale environments
Experience designing microservices architectures with a focus on high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance
Demonstrated experience migrating from legacy integration platforms (WebMethods, TIBCO, or similar) to modern Camel-based solutions
Strong knowledge of infrastructure, networking, and security architecture as it relates to integration platforms
Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and platform automation in integration contexts
Ability to define and enforce technical governance, standards, and reusable patterns across teams
